Where PENNINE's specialist geotechnical techniques are required in restricted conditions the TARDIS rig can usually be operated.

It is especially useful for low headroom operation; e.g. under cables, inside buildings, etc. or where mast height may be restricted by third parties - for instance working adjacent to rail tracks. The rig has been designed with a telescopic mast to accommodate working heights from 6.0-9.5m, the tracks width is adjustable down to 3.0m for travelling and with an operational weight of c.20 tonnes ground bearing capacity is low and hence piling platforms may, in some conditions, be thinner.

The TARDIS rig is capable of operating all of PENNINE's specialist vibro systems for stone and concrete columns as well as Penpile® or CFA piling.
